The Secret to Flawless Foundation

I have heard about make up sponge blenders for awhile now but I finally decided to give one a chance. Since trying the makeup sponge blender I have absolutely fallen in love! I came across "Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge" and decided to give it a try because of its great price.  This sponge is compared to the original beauty blender.  The original beauty blender runs around $20 and the Real Techniques sponge runs as low as $4!  According to all of the reviews I have read, it works just as great as the beauty blender.  All you do is get the sponge wet and squeeze the water out.  Then you use the sponge to apply your foundation flawlessly to your face.  I even use it to apply my concealer.  I have never had clear skin, so this makeup sponge is a blessing.  I now love doing my foundation in the morning because it is so easy!  The sponge creates an airbrushed look.  If you don't already use this sponge in your makeup routine, you ...

The Secret to my Beach Waves

It seems like no matter where I go I am always getting compliments and questions on how I curl my hair.  I have been curling my hair the same way for years now, so if you are creeping through my pictures and want to know how I curled my hair, this is how.  I was never a big fan of tight curls, so I figured out a way to make them loose and wavy.  Here is the secret to how I curl my hair! Step 1.  I blow dry my hair half way and then I let it air dry the rest of the way dry. Step 2.  Once my hair is dry I spray it with a heat protectant.  I use the garnier fructis brand. Step 3.  I straighten just the ends of my hair.  I have naturally wavy hair and when I do my beach waves look I like the ends to be straight. I just started doing this because I think it gives it a messier look. This is just a personal preference.  This step can be skipped. Step 4.  To curl my hair I take a section of hair and wrap it around the curling iron, away ...

KEEP Collective

If you all haven't noticed from social media, I have started selling KEEP Collective.  For a long time now I have been looking into getting a second job for the nights and weekends.  I have never done it since that would mean taking away time with Mason.  One day I came across KEEP Collective on social media and I loved the jewelry.  I had always been skeptical about direct sales but I thought to myself as long as I made back what the kit cost me to start it would be worth it, so I decided to join and start selling KEEP.  As it turns out, I have fallen in love with KEEP! I can work from anywhere as long as I have my cell phone.  Not only have I made what my kit cost me but I have made much more!  I have also earned free product along with my weekly paycheck.  I am so glad I made the decision to join KEEP.  If anyone wants to join me in selling KEEP please feel free to message me!  Also if you want to host a social and earn your own free ...

Turning 21

Sorry it has been awhile since I have posted anything. It seems like I have been so busy lately.  But I am finally settled into the new house and Mason is at his dad's for the weekend so I have some time to write (actually type). I turned 21 not too long ago, which to a lot of people is a milestone birthday.  You see so many people post about how "I've finally made it" or something about their horizontal drivers license.  When I turned 21 I didn't feel that way.  Everyone kept asking me if I was excited to turn 21, and honestly I wasn't that excited at all.  All of my friends were more excited than I was.  I already felt like I was 28 so turning 21 wasn't a big deal to me at all.  I have so much responsibility in my life that being able to go to a bar and drink isn't the highlight of my life.  I completely skipped that stage of my life and I don't think there is any going back.  The highlight of my life is getting to spend time with Mason a...

Flat Tummy Tea Review

I am sorry it has been so long since I have written a post.  I have been so busy lately, but I wanted to make sure and share this with everyone.  Recently I came across flat tummy tea online. I researched it and read many reviews when I finally decided to try it out.  I didn't order it because it is supposed to make your tummy flat, but I ordered it because it helps with bloating and has many health benefits.  Ever since I have gotten my gall bladder removed there are certain foods that I cannot eat and a lot of times all food in general makes me sick.  I have been using the flat tummy tea for 1 week now and ever since the first day I have not gotten sick (I usually get sick daily).  I have not paid attention to how it has affected the size of my stomach but from the reviews I have seen people do get good results in that area.  I will say that this tea does not make you magically lose weight.  It is just a cleansing tea.  It is a miracle to h...

The Next Chapter

Mason and I have made it to another chapter in our lives.  We are in the process of buying a house! It is going to be a great change in our lives.  Mason will finally have a backyard that he can play in! That means someone will have to move his trampoline...and I am hoping it wont have to be me! :)  We will still be living in Ainsworth.  If you want to go check out the house you can follow this link https://www.mundhenkeagency.com/properties.php   (Martin House) Everyone has been so supportive throughout this process and for that I am thankful!  I never would have imagined I would be a homeowner at 20 years old but then again I feel a lot older than 20.  Having worked in the mortgage department at TCB has definitely helped through out this whole process.  Because of that I know what I am getting myself into and I am not walking into it as blind as a bat.  I am so happy that I can finally give Mason a permanent place of our own to call home....

GoodNites Tru-Fit Real Underwear Review

Ever since Mason has been potty trained and wearing big boy pants it has been a struggle at night time to get him to wear a diaper.  He cannot yet make it through the night without wetting the bed.  I went through a phase where I would have to duck tape Mason's diaper on in order for him not to rip it off in the middle of the night.  I had recently used up all of his diapers so I went to the store to check out what my options were.  I found the perfect solution to my problem!  I found GoodNites Tru-Fit Underwear.  They are real underwear that you can insert an absorbent pad in.  I was skeptical about how well they would actually work because Mason's diaper is usually full in the morning but I was pleasantly surprised!  I have not had one leak on me yet. I had never heard of GoodNites underwear before but I am so glad that I found them! No more diapers for Mason! Below I have posted a link to purchase GoodNites Underwear.  I have not yet shopp...

National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month

May is National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month along with Mason's birthday month.  This time of year makes me think back to the days I was so swollen and waddling around the halls at school.  Back to the times where I peed in between every single class and sometimes even more than that.  Back to when I would go to bed at 7 o'clock (sometimes even 6) and wake up still so tired.  Back to when I had no idea if I would make it to my high school graduation. This is a life that I would never wish upon anyone else but a life I wouldn't trade for the world.  If I didn't have Mason, I would have taken a different path with my life.  But God threw a curve in my road and has brought me to a different place in life but a great one.  God has blessed me with a healthy, handsome, and full of life little boy but I always pictured him blessing me with a child when I was married.  You can't always control what life throws at you, but one thing you can control is...

Dating Someone With Kids

My friend sent me this article and I have a lot to say about it.  There were some good points but there were also a lot of things that I didn't agree with.  Here is the link to the original article  http://elitedaily.com/life/culture/dating-someone-with-kids/971143/ 1.They come first. Maybe not to you, but to him, they ALWAYS come first. The title of the first topic even bothers me. Yes, Mason comes first but I hope and pray that if I am in a serious relationship that Mason would come first to my boyfriend/husband too.  I want someone that will love Mason like their own.  If Mason doesn't become a priority to them then it is not going to work out.  In the article she says that "second place: This is where close members of his family reside. This is the place he reserves for family or as-good-as family."  I totally disagree. I don't put a boyfriend in the same category as my family and friends.  They have their own category. 2. Dinnertime is ...

The Question I Have Been Avoiding

I have been avoiding blogging about this topic for awhile but I have been getting asked this a lot.  "How do you deal with your baby daddy's girlfriend around your child?"  I feel like I am in no way an expert on this subject.  I am not going to give any details on my personal experiences, because I am sure the other parties would not appreciate it.  But I can give you my opinion and answer it to the best of my ability.  You first have to realize that it is a two way street.  If you want to date other people they can too.  Also if you can bring your significant other around your child then they can too, unless in some way it is not safe or healthy for your child to be around them.   Also people have made the comment to me that they get jealous of the girlfriend being around their child.  In my opinion you shouldn't feel that way at all.  I am Mason's mom and no one can come close to that.  Being a single mom I think Mason and I ha...

"I am Glad my Life isn't on Tape"

Teen Mom has been doing a special on the "original girls" where they go back and look at all over their footage over the years.  (Yes I am a fan of the show Teen Mom).  As I was watching a little bit of one of them, I thought, thank goodness my life was not taped.  It would have been nice to have all of those stages in Mason's life taped but there were so many painful times in the past few years that I don't want to remember or relive.  I have realized that I have honestly blocked so much of it out of my head because I don't want to remember it.  That is how I am living a happy life because I just block out the bad. I would be living in so much pain and resentment if I thought about all of it. I am also glad that my life wasn't taped because I don't want everyone to see what I went through.  I would rather everyone think my life was easy.  I am the type of person that could be having the worst day but no one is going to know about it.  I am goin...

National FFA Week

This week is National FFA Week so I thought it would be the perfect time to write about FFA and everything it has done for me.  What I have taken away from FFA isn't all of my medals, plaques, and certificates but the life skills that I have gained from being in such a rewarding organization.  From FFA I have learned.... Speaking skills- From FFA Leadership Skills Events (LSE's) I have learned how to speak in front of a crowd.  If it wasn't for FFA I wouldn't have the courage or knowledge to pursue my dream of talking to kids.  This is not just a skill that can win me a medal but a skill that will benefit me for the rest of my life. Interview skills-FFA has prepared me for so many job interviews.  From past FFA officer interviews and SAE interviews, I can now walk into job interviews confident.  I also walk in confident that if they ask me which kitchen utensil I would be and why...I could answer it.  Only Ainsworth FFA Chapter members would get th...

Friendly Reminder

I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! I hope you all made someone feel loved even if you are single.  Just a reminder if you have read one of my previous blog posts, this is the time to be buying winter clothes for next year.  I just bought Mason's winter coat for next year for only twelve dollars from Target.  I also got free shipping and 5% off using my Target Debit card.  Don't forget when you are shopping online to use your Retail Me Not app and Ebates for extra savings!  I am sorry for such a short post but I just wanted to remind everyone!  Have a great week! :)

Become a Partner in Hope

Today is February 4th, which also happens to be World Cancer Day.  In honor of World Cancer Day, the radio station I listen to everyday at work had many cancer survivors, and parents of cancer patients tell their stories.  Every time a parent or a child told their story, I was almost in tears.  In every story they all said "I never thought it would happen to me."  It is so true, no one ever thinks it is going to happen to them.  I couldn't even begin to imagine if I was told that my son has cancer.  I don't want to even think about it.  After hearing all of these stories I decided I wanted to do something to help.  So I went on to stjude.org and became a partner in hope.  I signed up to donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital monthly.  It comes straight out of your credit card or bank account.  You can choose the dollar amount to donate per month.  Any amount helps so much.  It is so easy to do and I hope others wi...

Motivational Water Bottle

I have always been terrible about drinking enough water in a day.  I especially struggled drinking enough water when I was pregnant.  I am sure everyone in high school at the time remembers me carrying around my big water bottle of tea everyday because I was so tired of water!  I have been trying to work on my water intake because drinking water has a lot of great health benefits.  That is when I came across this great water bottle. It is a motivational water bottle.  It gives you a schedule for drinking water.  It has definitely helped me with my water intake.  It helps me to visually see how much water I have drank and how much more water I need to drink for the day.  A big motivation for me is that water helps you to lose weight.  I have to keep telling myself that.  I posted the link below to go check out the water bottles if you are interested! http://www.funfitca.com/sipping-schedule-water-bottle.html

Teen Pregnancy Hotline

Ever since I became a mom at a young age I have taken on a role of someone to confide in for young boys and girls on the topic of teen pregnancy.  This is not something I had planned on or something I have advertised for, it is just something that has happened.  You would be surprised by the number of people that come to me with pregnancy scares or advice.  But I want to add that I always keep it confidential.  If someone comes to me, I don't go and tell anyone.  I am glad that I can be that person that they can talk to.  I love being able to help them because I was in that same situation.  I know how scared they are.  I know what their thoughts are and I had no one to go to.  But at the same time it is hard for me.  Every time someone comes to me thinking that they might be pregnant or that they are scared they got someone pregnant I literally get sick to my stomach.  I want to cry every time.  I hate the thought that they mig...

Bathroom Organization

As a teenager my mom always complained about how messy my bathroom was.  There was always makeup and hair products all over.  Over the past couple years I have come up with a few ways that work to keep myself more organized when it comes to my bathroom.  All of them were very cheap and inexpensive. 1.  Shelves- I got these shelves for free which was awesome!  You would normally put them in your living room but I decided to put them in my bathroom to put all of my different products on.  It works great to display them all for you to see where they are easily accessible, and not have them cluttering your bathroom sink counter space.  This is probably my favorite organization tip. 2. Make-up brush holder-My make-up brush holder was also free.  I just used a glass jar that someone was giving away and some purple glass beads that my mom didn't want anymore.  I put the two together to make myself and make-up brush holder.  It works g...

Be the BIGGER Person

Throughout my journey of being a single mom I have learned that sometimes you just need to be the bigger person.  Even though sometimes it is so hard, I have to tell myself that I am better than that.  Sometimes I would love to screenshot texts or post conversations to show the world what I am dealing with.  That is the 20 year old coming out in me but then I remind myself that I can't act like a 20 year old.  I am a mother I have to set a good example for my child and all of the other mothers out there.  No one wants to know your drama.  Even as I am writing this I want to say things that I have been having to deal with for the past 3 years.  Honestly the most ridiculous things that you couldn't even imagine.  I don't need to be the one to paint a picture of how you should look at someone else.  They can paint that picture for you and you can make your own judgements and opinions.  I only want to show you the person that I am.  Bec...
